Discover 700 years of history in the childhood home of Anne Boleyn at Hever Castle and Gardens. The splendid rooms of the double moated castle contain fine furniture, tapestries, antiques, an important collection of Tudor paintings and two prayer books inscribed and signed by Anne Boleyn herself.
As well as the packed events schedule visitors to Hever Castle can also enjoy the 100-year old Yew Maze (how long will it take you to get out?) and the popular Water Maze (April until October). Special events also run for children and families through school holidays.
Older children will love the thrilling Tudor Towers adventure playground complete with its own moat, drawbridge and turrets. Kids rule this castle, with three towers to climb and two fireman’s poles to escape via, children will love discovering what’s around each twist and turn of the adventure playground.
Under 7s have their own natural play area with a 2 metre high living willow structure, a giant sandpit, a grassy mound with three tunnels to clamber in and a slide and a climbing frame. Located in the trees are two lookout platforms linked by a clatter bridge and with a slide for making a quick escape.
The stunning award-winning gardens transformed by William Waldorf Astor include the Italian Garden with its 38 acre lake and the spectacular Loggia with is very own Trevi Fountain. No matter what time of year you visit Hever Castle you are guaranteed a breath-taking display.
There’s a fascinating collection of Miniature Model Houses, a boating Lake and a warm welcome awaits you in the shops and restaurants.
