Christmas at Crystal Peaks
Sunday 27th November
This holiday season at Crystal Peaks we are bringing you not one but two of Raymond Biggs’ most famous characters that epitomise Christmas – The Snowman and his Snowdog – stars of one of the greatest animated television films of all time and a much-loved classic.
The Snowman has been a Christmas tradition since 1982 when Channel 4 commissioned the Oscar-nominated animated television film based on his 1978 picture book. The Snowdog followed 30 years later.
Families and shoppers will be able to experience the magic of these two popular characters in the Centre where they will be spreading joy and goodwill by meeting and greeting loyal fans at intervals from 11.30am on the day. Oh, and don’t forget your camera, it’s a great photo opportunity!
Sunday 4th December
A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood… Oh no! It’s a Gruffalo!” Come to Crystal Peaks Shopping Mall and see the classic picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler come to life! Meet the mystical monster who lives in the deep dark wood up close and personal. The fearsome favourite will be engaging brave visitors in the Centre at intervals throughout the day. Have your photo or selfie taken with him and let The Gruffalo magic come to life – but wait…. after all, there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo – or is there? Find out for yourself!
Sunday 11th December
He needs little or no introduction! As he’s a certain marmalade loving, suitcase carrying, Paddington Bear originally from Darkest Peru and is heading for Sheffield – Crystal Peaks to be exact! After a whistle stop tour of Buckingham Palace as the unforgettable star of her Majesty’s Jubilee celebration, Paddington will be making appearances at intervals throughout the day, so make sure you come by to say hello, as royalty did!
Sunday 18th December
Star of National Geographic, the BBC and Venice Carnival the amazing Bjorn is an animatronic polar bear who blinks, snuffles and smiles whilst communicating with humans in a realistic way. He’s designed and built in the UK and will give you an unrivalled Polar Bear experience. Along with Inuit interpreter Ursula, Bjorn will guide you through his 30-year life span, habitat and being the world’s largest land carnivore. Simply, don’t miss seeing him.
Santa’s Magical Grotto
Crystal Peaks are now also taking bookings to visit Santa’s Grotto!
As well as getting to meet the main man himself, kids will receive an age appropriate gift and take part in a craft workshop with the Elves.
