Start your child’s learning journey with a Free Assessment at one of Aberdeen’s three Study centres
Build confidence, independence, and a love of learning
This winter is the perfect moment for families across Aberdeen to take advantage of Kumon’s Free Assessment at any of the three local Kumon Study Centres. As parents begin to see how their child is settling into the new school year, it often becomes clearer where they may need extra support or additional challenge. A Free Assessment provides clear insight into your child’s current ability in maths and English, helping you understand how Kumon can support steady, meaningful progress before the new year begins.
For more than 60 years, Kumon has helped children worldwide unlock their potential. With 3.5 million students studying globally, Kumon is the UK’s largest provider of supplementary education. Its maths and English programmes focus on step-by-step progression, allowing each child to learn at the pace that suits them. Students can revisit earlier concepts to consolidate understanding or move ahead when ready – strengthening confidence, concentration, and independent study skills that last well beyond the classroom.
Your Aberdeen Study Centres:

How does Kumon work?
Kumon places self-learning at the centre of a child’s development. Students work through carefully structured worksheets that include examples and small-step guidance. By attempting each question independently, learning from mistakes, and experiencing regular success, children build resilience, confidence, and strong problem-solving skills.

Every child begins with a free assessment carried out by the local Instructor. This short, informal test identifies their current level and highlights the skills they need to strengthen or extend. Because Kumon is ability-based rather than age-based, the programmes support children who may need to catch up as well as those ready to move beyond school expectations.
Now’s the perfect time to start
Weekly classes take place both in centre and online, supported by daily worksheet study at home. Beginning Kumon now helps children build strong routines ahead of the new year, giving them a boost in confidence and clarity about their learning.
At your Free Assessment meeting, your child will complete a short set of tasks in maths and English. The Instructor will then explain your child’s current ability level and outline a personalised study plan to help them progress steadily

and confidently.
Families can choose between traditional paper worksheets or digital learning with KUMON CONNECT,
which delivers the same worksheets on a tablet. Children complete work using a stylus, and parents and Instructors can track progress instantly.
