5 Must-See Highlights on the Hollow Trees Farm Trail This May Half Term

Hollow Trees Farm

Spring has well and truly sprung at Hollow Trees Farm, and with the change in season comes plenty of new sights, sounds and activities to enjoy. With nature in full bloom and our animals loving the sunshine, it’s the perfect time for a family day out.

Here are five things to look out for on your next visit:

1. Lambs & Kids Grazing in the Fields

Our playful lambs and goat kids are now out in the pastures, making the most of the fresh grass and warm weather. Watch them frolic, graze and explore. You might even spot them clambering over Goat Mountain.

2. Chickens Foraging Freely Once More

After spending the winter indoors due to government restrictions to help prevent the spread of Avian Influenza, our chickens are now back outside and doing what they love best – scratching, pecking and foraging around the fields. These restrictions were precautionary, and we’re pleased to say Hollow Trees has not had any cases of the illness.

3. Butterflies & Bees Among the Blossoms

As flowers bloom along the trail, keep an eye out for butterflies and bees collecting nectar and pollen. It’s a brilliant chance to spot some of nature’s busiest little workers and learn more about pollinators. Don’t forget to check out the education boards along the way.

4. Birds Singing from the Hedgerows and Trees

The trail is full of birdsong at this time of year. Listen carefully as you walk and you might hear robins, blackbirds and other native species calling from the trees and hedgerows around you.

5. Cresta Run Sledges and Activity Field ReopenHollow Trees

Back just for the school holidays, the Cresta Run sledges and activity field will be open from Saturday 24th to Sunday 1st June inclusive. It’s the perfect place to burn off some energy, whether you’re racing down grassy slopes or enjoying a runaround in the fresh air.

The Farm Trail is open daily from 10am to 5pm, with the last entry at 3.30pm. To guarantee your spot and get the best price, we recommend booking your tickets online in advance. We can’t wait to see you!
