Light Up Kingston 2025
Light Up Kingston 2025 Returns
A stunning series of light installations in Kingston Upon Thames
Kingston First and Riverside Walk are delighted to announce the return of Light Up Kingston 2025, set to run from Friday 14th February to Monday 23rd February 2025 in Kingston Town Centre. This year’s event is set to be bigger and brighter featuring more installations, interactive elements, and the introduction of sound and movement. The event promises to brighten up February’s gloomy winter evenings every day from 4.30pm-9pm.
As part of this celebration, Kingston’s local businesses will once again be involved in the event , offering exclusive deals and discounts for visitors, such as 25% off your total food bill, and Kids Eat Free. Participating venues include Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Chakra, Excellar, Cass Art, PRYZM, FunClub, Afrikana and many more!
Building on the success of last year’s debut, Light Up Kingston 2025 is back with an expanded line-up of installations. There will be the return of last year’s favourites of the Light Maze in the Ancient Market Place, but there will also be a whole host of brand new light displays now incorporating soundscapes and dynamic movement, adding a new layer of magic to these beautiful installations.
Most notably, one of the new installations called Kingston in Frames is a must-see and has been created by Kingston University graduate Jadwega Ligeza. This stop-motion animation celebrates Kingston’s landmarks, history, and community, brought to life through hand-crafted paper art.
Shareena Merzi, Director of Communications and Corporate Development at Kingston First, said:
“Last year’s pilot project was enjoyed by so many locals and visitors so we are thrilled about the return of Light Up Kingston 2025. There will be more installations and immersive elements including sound and movement, ensuring the experience is even more enchanting for everyone. Plus we have some fantastic off ers and discounts from local businesses to create an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone visiting.”
Greg Miles, Project Liaison Manager at Canadian and Portland, added:
“For the second year running, Riverside Walk is delighted to sponsor Light Up Kingston. This year’s event brings an entirely new level of interaction, with installations that don’t just light up the town but engage people in creative ways. While February is a cold and dark month, we wanted to partner with Kingston First to turn those attributes on their head and encourage visitors to sample all that Kingston has to off er in a new light. Do come and get involved and complete the trail to experience Kingston in a new and exciting way.”
Light Up Kingston is free to attend and promises to light up the February half-term, Valentine’s Day, and post-work evenings.
