Christmas lights switch on dates – Solihull and Warwickshire

Christmas Lights Solihull

The switch on of the Christmas lights marks the start of the festivities in many town centres across Solihull and Warwickshire. Get into the Christmas spirit and head along to your local event.

16 November – Stratford Upon Avon

The lights switch-on will take place at 5:30pm. Fabulous entertainment and market stalls are available throughout the day. The market opens at 10am and entertainment starts at 2pm.

17 November – Leamington Spa

Get into the Festive spirit in Royal Leamington Spa on Sunday 17th November for this years Big Lights Switch On from 12.00pm to 7.00pm. Celebrate Diwali, Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Gurpurab and start the countdown to Christmas. Come and enjoy a packed programme of entertainment for all the family with the Bumper Yuletide market from 10am, Fairground rides. Enjoy Local artists performing on the stage with the big switch on at 5.30pm, but arrive at 5.15pm to see the line-up of people switching on the lights outside the Town Hall!

23 November – Touchwood, Solihull

Santa is coming to Solihull, as Touchwood’s festive programme of activities and entertainment kicks off on Saturday 23rd November. Our Christmas Launch Party is taking place on Saturday 23rd November and the day will be marked by mayhem and madness, courtesy of the Grinch. Everyone’s favourite “who-hating” character will be causing chaos out on the malls, so be sure to hold onto your Christmas gifts! The incredible Snow Lion will be making his debut appearance at Touchwood, with special performances at intervals throughout the day – don’t forget to bring the kids for a magical experience! Plus, there’ll be free face painting from 12pm – 4pm. The day will culminate with our Annual Christmas Light Switch On Event from 4pm.  A Magical Day awaits.

24 November – Southam

Event begins at 3:00. Funfair. Lights switch on at 5:00.

25 November – Dorridge

Enjoy seasonal food & bar, and the mini fun fair is always popular with families. Live Christmas music from Shed Men Walking. Live on stage Mat Bullock & Santa pressing the big button to light up Dorridge at 5.30pm

27 November – Knowle

Father Christmas joins Knowle Parish Church to lead the community countdown to the lights switching on in Knowle for this hugely popular event, once again enjoy lots of festive entertainment, their amazing Christmas Light Switch On & Late Night Shopping with nibbles, drinks, special offers and shopping in many of Knowle’s independent shops.

28 November – Warwick

Step back in time on Thursday 28th November from 3pm for the annual Victorian Market. The main event is in the Market Square with entertainers, themed rides and fun for all the family. Don’t forget to visit St Mary’s Church for their Display of over 50 Christmas trees and a short Carol Service and the Market Hall Museum for the Craft Market, kids craft activities, outdoor café selling mince pies and mulled wine. With the big switch on of the 2024 Christmas Lights at 7.00pm.

29 November – Kenilworth High Street

The traditional event will have entertainment, food, and drink from 5pm to 8pm, and the lights will be switched on at 6pm.

29 November – Balsall Common

All welcome, come and join us! You will see Santa, hear the school choirs, receive free refreshments and see the Christmas lights! Starting at 4:00pm

30 November – Shirley

Friends of Shirley Park are hosting their annual spectacular Christmas light switch this year at 4pm.

30 November – Cubbington

Come and join us for an afternoon of festive fun and the lighting of the Christmas tree. Hot food, open fires, bar and of course the lighting of the Christmas tree and Cubbington lights. 5pm til 7pm on Saturday 30th November in the village square, Cubbington. Take your photo in our giant snow globe.

1 December – Kenilworth Warwick Road

Market stalls, food, drink and fairground rides starting at 1pm. The music will start on the stage at 4pm to 7pm, with the lights being switched on at 6pm by the Mayor of Kenilworth, Councillor Alan Chalmers. Parking will be free in all Warwick District Council off-street car parks in Kenilworth on Sunday December 1 to support the event.

6 December – Hampton in Arden

Santa is coming to Hampton-in-Arden! The village will have an official light switch on with a visit from Santa along with other special guests who will add an extra sprinkle of joy to the festivities on December 6th at 5:30 – 6:30pm

8 December – Cheswick Green

Join us for the light switch on with Santa at 5.30pm in the village hall. A family disco, dancing, party games and refreshments will then be until 8.00pm. Come have your photo taken with the sleigh and enjoy the community spirit at this festive time of year.
