Razzamataz Sheffield Student Future Fund Success!

Future Fund

At Razzamataz Sheffield this week we are celebrating the news that one of our longest standing students Poppy Bell has been announced the runner up of this year’s Future Fund, a national scholarship where students from across the UK audition in front of a panel of industry experts!

Poppy BellPoppy auditioned in front of two top industry professionals in auditions hosted by Razzamataz Theatre Schools Ltd. who said that Poppy’s dedication, talent, and vision shone brightly in her audition.

The Future Fund charity was set up to celebrate the extraordinary talent of Razzamataz Theatre Schools students and has seen past recipients go on to appear in hit West End musicals such as Hamilton and Moulin Rouge.

Poppy has been awarded with a bursary to attend Performers College Birmingham where she will be undertaking a degree in Acting for stage, screen and digital media and was over the moon when she heard the news.

“I am extremely grateful for this bursary because it will help me pursue my passion to the next stage. Razzamataz has been a very large part of my life and I am so happy that I was able to share my personal Razzamataz experience through the audition. Thank you so much for this audition experience, I cannot wait to continue my studies at Performers College!”

One of the most exciting aspects of the audition process for the young performers is being given the opportunity to present their work in front of a panel of industry experts. Razzamataz was delighted to welcome to the judging panel Johnathan Hunt, Deputy Principal at Emil Dale Academy and a professional actor, singer, director and artist with a wide range of theatre credits. Alongside Johnathan was Laurie Scarth, a professional musical theatre performer featuring in hit shows such as Grease, Hairspray, Sister Act and CATS.

Poppy is a fierce and confident performer and this came across in her audition with the judges commenting on her amazing energy in dance, her acting was also praised for its authenticity and use of her own accent, delivering with thought and heart. The judges stated that her dedication, talent, and vision shone brightly, and her love and passion for Razzamataz was very clear.

A huge congratulations from all at Razzamataz Sheffield!
