Celebrate Chinese New Year in Solihull and Warwickshire

Chinese New Year Solihull Warwickshire

The Lunar New Year Festival celebrating Chinese New Year is set to be huge this year in Solihull and Warwickshire with dazzling performances and a spectacular firework finale to mark the Year of the Dragon.

Each new year is associated with an animal from the zodiac. 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, which represents health, strength, and good fortune.

Touchwood, Solihull

On Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th February 2024, the centre will be hosting a range of activities to welcome in strength, power and success – all key symbols of the Year of the Wood Dragon.

The celebrations commence with a traditional Lion Dance performance and fan dancers in the centre on 10th February at 11:15am, followed by Chinese classic dances, instruments with folk singing, and a Dragon Dance. And make sure to keep your eyes peeled as the dragon will be roaming the Centre following its performance!

In the afternoon, guests can take part in a Tai Chi workshop and dragon puppet making class to put their self-defence and crafting skills to the test.

Guests will also have the opportunity to take photos with the Lion Dance and Dragon Dance performers around Touchwood’s malls, while enjoying the live entertainment and diverse shopping offer.
