Review: Spilman’s Christmas Experience

Wow! Wow! And more wow! With a sprinkle of Christmas Elf magic!

Spilman’s Christmas Experience exceeded all of our expectations!
We arrived for our afternoon slot and were greeted warmly by Santa’s elves in the crafting workshop! Upon check in, adults were treated to a mug of warm cider or apple juice whilst the children were given the chance to make lots of Christmas decorations and a Christmas hat. The craft resources were amazing with the elves in full character, on hand, to help you along the way.
Soon it was our time to start our adventure. We gathered in a small group and we’re taken through a magical forest to our first stop, the incredible snow room! This room was filled with fluffy snow and families had the opportunity to throw snowballs, build snowmen, write and post letters to Santa and enjoy playing in the snow together. It was absolutely incredible!
Next we ventured through another magical forest on our way to the main event, Santa! We stopped outside his door and our helpful elf directed us in. The children sat on cushions in front of a log fire and adults sat at the back whilst Santa Claus himself read a beautiful story to the children. My 5 year old was in awe. We were then given opportunities to have our photo taken with him before moving on to see Mrs Claus.
As we entered Mrs Claus’ workshop you were personally greeted by the lady herself. She led you over to a table where you had the opportunity to decorate a gingerbread biscuit before she exchanged your golden ticket for a fabulous present – the children got to choose their own. We chose a large tractor set for my 2 year old and a fairy barbie-style doll for my 5 year old. There was lots of choice and my children were blown away.
The final stop led you to a huge barn which was beautifully decorated and the children (and adults…!) could partake in a Christmas disco, finish off their crafting or grab a bite to eat. The food was delicious. We had a pork, stuffing and apple sauce sandwich with chips and the children had a beautiful, hand-decorated biscuit each.
Just when we thought the fun was over, we were shown to an area outside where the children could safely toast marshmallows! Wow!
Honestly, this was the most magical Santa experience we have ever done and cannot wait to return next year! It was everything you want Christmas to be and so much more!
