The Forum Theatre School Of Performing Arts

The Forum Theatre School Of Performing Arts has been running since November 1999. Children from the age of 6yrs to 16yrs can explore the world of theatre through drama, dance and singing under the guidance of experienced tutors. This helps to build confidence and social skills. Because we are based in the Forum Theatre, we are able to offer our students first hand experience of a working theatre. This includes working with visiting professional companies and actors where appropriate, technical training and performing our own annual showcase on The Forum Theatre stage. Our students also learn the fundamentals of stage management, sound and lighting.

We operate two groups: Thursday 4.30pm till 6.30pm for 6 to 9 year olds and Saturday 9.30am till 2pm for 9 to 16 year olds. Our approach is not regimented, we are about having fun whilst working hard to achieve a high standard in all aspects of theatre performance. Many of our students go on to performing arts colleges with great success as a result of the training they receive with us.

Our students have the opportunity to audition for visiting professional companies as well as our annual Christmas pantomime. We also encourage students to audition for TV and film work and for other companies in the area. If you would like to bring your child along for a trial session please enquire at the Forum Theatre office or visit our web site for more details.

For more information call 01642 552663, email forumtheatre@btconnect.com or visit the various sub links by hovering over the "Theatre School" link on this website to reveal the drop down box.
