If you come when there aren’t any events planned, there is a family area and plenty of free activities and resources to pick up.

While you’re at mima, why not sample the family friendly menu in our cafe? There are activities for the children to do in the cafe, and we have plenty of high chairs for the little ones too. Browse our shop for arty gifts for children and adults, from pocket money souvenirs to art and craft kits.

mima has spacious baby changing facilities and even toddler toilets! We have parking at the back of mima and are easily accessible by foot or by public transport so why not come along for a great day out and a warm family welcome?

Family Art Trolley

At mima, children and adults can have fun together enjoying creative activities in a friendly and stimulating environment. Our free weekly family art trolley sessions, on Saturday afternoons 1-4pm involve everyone in looking, chatting and making together.

Mini mima

Every Thursday morning (during term time) 10-11.30am, we deliver mini mima, an exciting hands-on interactive early years adventure for 0-4 year olds. Sessions respond to mima’s current exhibitions and includes a sing-along, juice and biscuit, and loads of hands on experimental making. £3.50 per child, adults go free

We provide free family resources including a building guide, exhibition guides, and other exhibition-specific things to do in the gallery.

“We made use of the family art trolley.

My five year old asked if he could come every Saturday. Excellent idea to encourage young people/children into the gallery.

Thanks again!”

Helen, local parent.
