Punky teenager Anna and her strait-laced mother Tess do not see eye to eye about anything. Tess disapproves of Anna’s clothes, music, and boyfriends, much to Anna’s distress. In a flash of anger in a Chinese restaurant, fortune cookies with a hidden power unleash a magic on the pair that forces them to walk in each other’s shoes – literally!

Waking up the next day, the mother and daughter must take each other’s places at work and school, with hilarious consequences, until they can each learn to see the world from the others point of view.

With pitch-perfect comic performances from the iconic Lindsay Lohan and Oscar-winner Jamie Lee Curtis, who perfectly embody their total opposites, the film remains a joy 20 years on.
