Toddler Takeover at Hopetown
Calling all little adventurers! Toddler Takeover at Hopetown is a fun-filled roleplay experience designed especially for children under five and their grown-ups. For one special day, toddlers are invited to step into the shoes of the Hopetown team and discover what it takes to help run one of the North East’s most exciting heritage attractions.
Young visitors can take on a variety of important jobs throughout North Road Station Museum, from welcoming visitors and issuing tickets to helping look after fascinating museum objects. Little explorers can patrol the galleries as part of the security team, lend a hand in the station café and enjoy a range of imaginative activities that encourage learning through play.
The event has been carefully designed to support creativity, confidence and communication skills in a relaxed and engaging environment. As toddlers move around the museum completing activities, they’ll have opportunities to explore new spaces, meet other families and enjoy hands-on experiences tailored specifically to their age group. Creative activities also allow children to make their own artwork and contribute to a special gallery display.
Toddler Takeover offers a wonderful opportunity for parents, grandparents and carers to enjoy quality time together while introducing young children to museums, history and imaginative play in an accessible way. The activities encourage curiosity, independence and exploration, helping children build confidence while having fun.
Whether your little one dreams of being a ticket inspector, museum curator, café helper or station manager, there’s plenty to discover during this exciting takeover day. Join us for a memorable family experience packed with roleplay, creativity and adventure at Hopetown Darlington.
