The Wind in the Willows – The Musical

The Wind in the Willows – The Musical

Based on the much-loved classic by Kenneth Grahame, this is a riotous, musical romp around the countryside.  Join us for the adventures and misadventures of the impulsive, incorrigible Mr Toad as he charges around, terrifying his neighbours in his infamous shiny new motor car.   His friends, the endearing and ever-loyal Ratty, Mole and Badger, are in hot pursuit trying to save Mr Toad from the wicked Wild Wooders, led by the dastardly Chief Weasel, who threaten to take over Toad Hall.   But Toad also needs rescuing from his own reckless ways which land him in serious trouble.

This musical adaptation offers a wide range of genres in the glorious score by multi award-winning George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (Honk, Mary Poppins).  The dry and witty script by Oscar winning Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park, Downton Abbey) demonstrates his masterful touch when dealing with issues of class, money and tradition versus change.  There is hilarity at the antics of the outrageous Mr Toad and the villainous Stoats and Weasels but above all it is a heart-warming story of loyalty, friendship and family.

An upbeat, exciting show, suitable for 8 years and older or for the whole family at parents’ discretion.
