The Knights Return
Summer’s just around the corner and that can only mean one thing in Sherwood Forest – the Robin Hood Festival.
This year’s event – the 37th Festival to be held here – will take place over 14 days, across five weekends.
We’ll have spectacular arena shows, outdoor cinema, re-enactment, comedy, magic, music and much more.
It is a real pleasure to welcome back the brilliant Knights of Nottingham to Sherwood Forest this summer.
Their debut in 2022 proved a big hit with audiences who marvelled at their dazzling medieval jousting displays and wonderful horse riding skills.
The Knights have been wowing audiences for five decades now with their shows, and their telling of the Robin Hood legend is nothing short of spectacular.
They will headline the festival’s second weekend in the arena with two performances daily.
From jousting to jesting, we have the madcap Medieval Maniax back with us once again with their hilarious take on history.
Circus skills performers Helter Skelter will be here to enchant visitors, there’ll be firebreathing and other acts of derring-do from What A Palaver.
The multi-talented Bill Brookman will entertain visitors of all ages and Medieval Sir Robert of Wentbridge will regale you with anecdotes from the age of the outlaws.
Magician Nathaniel Bagshot will be spellbinding with his mix of comedy and magic and storytellers Past Imagined will have you gripped with tales of long ago.
There’s historical re-enactment from the Ferrers Household and the Wythe Retinue.
We’ll have fabulous music inspired by the Middle Ages filling the air around the forest from Sloe Gin.
