Maths and English Camps: holiday tuition, Gosforth

Those long summer holidays are a chance for children to have fun and recharge after a busy academic year. However, research has found that pupils can lose up to two months of learning by the time they return to school in September (TES, 2019). The good news is that as little as two hours a week of active learning can help to retain this knowledge and that is where we come in!

We offer sessions, for children aged 6 – 11, to help them avoid this learning loss. Each session will focus on maths or English, and will address the key skills that children need as they prepare for the year ahead.

Maths and English lessons for years 2,3,4,5 and 6. Children will be in small groups of up to 8 with others of a similar age. We believe that small groups encourage collaborative learning (Pearson, 2020) and also gives children the opportunity to support and encourage each other in their learning journey, whilst developing those all-important social skills. Feedback will be provided after each session to allow you to keep track of your child’s learning and progress.
