Marvellous Meadows

The Green Estate becomes a blaze of colour as our Marvellous Meadows bloom and begin to carpet our site from late spring until the early autumn. At their height we are inviting you to explore this idyllic landscape and discover how meadows can benefit people, pollinators and our planet, as well as how you can create your own haven at home. Follow our self led trail and don’t forget to have a go at crafting (additional cost) in the discovery centre.

The day will give you exclusive access to wander through our Pictorial Meadows trial beds and meet our experts. Uncover the secrets of differing meadow varieties, how to ensure they thrive in your garden, teem with life and have a positive impact on our environment. Explore the 16th century grounds where meadows mix with a formal Tudor labyrinth, apothecary garden and perennial planting amongst the ruins of Sheffield Manor Lodge. There’s plenty of spaces to stop for a picnic too.
