Livewire Rock Academy Autumn Charity Concert
Livewire Rock Academy’s young students will be showing off their skills at the South Mill Arts Centre on September 29th when they perform a set of rock and pop classics at the Bishop’s Stortford venue.
The concert will also feature Livewire’s customary “rock raffle” where donated musical instruments and merchandise will help raise money for Grove Cottage, the Bishop’s Stortford-based Mencap charity.
Students will be performing hot songs by the likes of Green Day, Guns n’ Roses, Wheatus, The Fratellis, Blondie and many more over their 2 hour set.
Livewire Rock Academy, established in 2009 teaches children and adults how to play drums, electric guitar and bass. Each lesson includes a “rock jam” where students come together to play songs. It’s a vital component of playing an instrument and unique to Livewire in the area.
Academy owner Simon Baker said “Playing an instrument is fun, but it’s only when you play with other people that you get the most out of it, and Livewire are unique in the area for offering that important component. We do this at every lesson so our students are experiencing the joy of playing together with other musicians from their very first lesson”
Grove Cottage, the home of Bishop’s Stortford Mencap, provides vital support for individuals with learning disabilities and their families. The funds raised will help support a range of activities and services, ensuring that members of the community receive the care and opportunities they need to thrive.
