Caverns & Crustaceans: Underground Boat Tours this Half-Term at Dudley Canal & Caverns

Join us this February half term for a guided underground boat tour and discover a hidden world that lies beneath the surface. Journey back 428 million years and cruise along the hidden labyrinthine of historical limestone mines, caverns and tunnels.

Marvel at the cavern that sings in the wind. Be immersed in the spectacle of light and sound shows within our vast singing cavern that are projected directly onto the rock face and echoes back in the acoustics as we recreate the Victorian spectacles that were performed here.

Listen to our informative skippers deliver live commentary as they reveal what life was like working in the mines alongside historical recreations, share the stories and secrets the tunnels behold and how ancient tropical sea beds have created a unique underground environment with natural fossil formations in the rock faces.

Experience history first hand having a go at ‘Legging’- the traditional art of navigating the tunnels during the Industrial Revolution- it’s harder than it looks!

Let your little ones loose on our Little Skipper play park where they can have a go at interactive activities; learn how to tie knots, crew and steer a static boat and much more!
