Have you ever wondered what it’s like to breath under water? Would you like to give it go and see what it’s like to be weightless? Would you just like to have a go at scuba diving to see how it feels?
What is a Discover Scuba Diving Session?
The Discover Scuba Diving Session is a quick and easy introduction to scuba diving for those wishing to give it a try. It’s an ideal opportunity to see what it’s like to explore the under water world.
What’s involved?
We start with a classroom session where we show you the equipment and introduce some basic dive theory. After watching a short dive film we head over to the pool for a pool dive. Your DSD experience will include:
- How to use your scuba equipment and you will discover how easy it is to move around underwater with your scuba gear
- Find out what it’s like and how easy it is to breath under water
- Have fun and enjoy the experience
- Try some basic scuba skills that you’ll use during every scuba dive
Our experienced PADI professionals will guide you every step of the way, whilst you have a go at scuba diving in a comfortable and relaxing environment. The DSD is a great opportunity to try scuba diving and meet some of our PADI team, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
What do you need to start?
- No prior experience of scuba diving is necessary
- Minimum age 10 years old
- Scuba diving is good for virtually anyone who is in reasonable physical health
- Pre-register your details here.
- Complete a self certification statement. If there are any health concerns you will need to take the questionnaire to your doctor for a final check, before diving. Click here to go to the form/s you need to complete before the pool session.
- Just bring along your swimming gear and an old t-shirt – we provide all the scuba diving equipment you will need.

Why not treat your children (friends and family too if you wish!) to a whole new experience, a Discover Scuba party – a great way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion. We can offer scuba diving and snorkelling fun filled parties, in a safe pool environment, with our friendly instructors looking after you all the way. This will be a party they will remember for years to come, something truly different, adventurous and great fun.
Who is it for?
- Children must be 8 years old or older for the scuba diving party (children under 8 years old can snorkel)
- Children should be of average health and fitness and able to swim at least one width of the pool. Please contact us if your child has any medical conditions which you think may prevent them from scuba diving and we will try to be of assistance.
What is included
- We supply all the scuba diving equipment you need.
- You will watch a safety DVD and have a briefing about the basics of using your kit and breathing underwater. Then you will get kitted up and the pool party will begin.
- The pool session will include underwater games and fun challenges for the children
- If you wish, after the scuba session, you can have your birthday cake/tea at the venue.
- We can create an underwater video / photos of your special party
- Each participant will receive a Certificate of completion
- Supervision and tuition with our friendly Instructors and Divemasters
What you need to bring/do
- Bring your own swim gear, towel and an old T-shirt to wear in the pool.
- Let us know the foot sizes of the children before the party
- Prior to attending the party each child’s parent / guardian must read and compete some forms and bring the completed forms, for each child, to the party. Please click here to go to the forms you need to read and complete before the party.
Adult Supervision
- For children’s parties we need at least one responsible adult to remain for the duration of the party.
- If the party has both boys and girls there needs to be one male and one female adult to remain for the duration of the party.
Cost
- You can have a maximum of 10 children in your party (minimum is 6).
- Cost for each child is £30.
