The annual family friendly sci-fi festival, KAPOW, is back for 2026. Bigger and better than ever, experience KAPOW like you never have before.

Get ready to meet iconic characters from across the realms of sci-fi and fantasy including Dolly the Dilophosaurus! Experience your favourite worlds through awesome photo opportunities with a Gothic Console from Dr Who and a variety of other props from fan-favourites! To really get into the sci-fi spirit, why not come along as your favourite character – cosplayers of all ages are welcome! For those wanting to get up on stage and show off their costumes, the Cosplay Competition is the perfect opportunity

Sci-fi fans of all ages will be able to enjoy an exciting variety of activities, including a Geek Quiz in our sister venue, The LINK, and consoles, arcade games, and gadgets from across eras provided by Re:Wired Museum & Arcade CIC – a community-run organisation based in Teesside. Guests can hone their skills for crafting stories of their own at a writing workshop hosted by local sci-fi writer Gillie Hatton, author of the Thieves’ Guild series. Our quiet area will be available throughout the day to relax away from the bustle of the event. The quiet area is an inclusive environment for all attendees to use if they wish.
