Supporting Baby Development Through Movement and Play

Those first months of a baby’s life are filled with incredible growth – and movement plays a bigger role than many parents realise. At The Little Gym Godalming, specialist parent-and-baby classes are designed to support early development while helping families bond and build confidence together.

Starting from as young as 10 weeks old, sessions combine gentle movement, sensory play, music and massage to help babies develop early motor and cognitive skills. These carefully guided activities encourage babies to explore their surroundings, strengthen their bodies and build important brain-body connections – all through fun, interactive play.

Classes are delivered in small groups, allowing highly trained teachers to tailor activities to each child’s stage and personality. Parents take an active role too – learning techniques and gaining practical support while sharing special bonding moments with their little ones.

As babies grow into toddlers, structured play introduces listening skills, communication and social interaction through group activities, singing and playful gymnastics challenges. The continuous programme supports children’s development from infancy through to school age, nurturing physical, social and emotional growth at every stage.

Gymnastics but done differently, The Little Gym provides more than 30 confidence-boosting weekly classes, designed around a child-first approach that celebrates curiosity, movement and joyful learning from the very beginning.

The Little Gym Godalming in Chiddingfold is offering completely FREE baby classes for parents and their little ones aged 10–15 weeks. These sessions are designed specifically to support new parents during what can be a very isolating time – when partners may have returned to work and NHS support begins to taper off.

What are the classes?

Our Pre-Bugs sessions are a four-week course of baby development classes, led by our specialists, that combine:

  • Gentle movement and sensory play to aid development
  • Music, signing  and massage
  • Early cognitive and motor skill development
  • Practical support and knowledge for parents

The classes offer a unique blend of bonding, education, and fun – helping babies build strong foundations and helping parents feel supported and empowered.

These classes are warm, welcoming, and completely free – no catch, no hidden costs.

When do they run?

Families can start right now, subject to availability, or book in advance for classes beginning in December and beyond.

If baby isn’t quite 10 weeks old yet, parents can still join the waitlist to secure a place.
