Enjoy a day out at Durham Cathedral and enjoy colouring activities, alongside free family-friendly mini tours of Durham Cathedral – celebrating 40 years as a UNESCO world heritage site!
Free Mini Tours
Monday 23 February – Friday 27 February, Every ten minutes starting at 11am – 3pm (break 12.30-1pm for Holy Communion)
- Join us for a free family-friendly mini tour of Durham Cathedral. We are celebrating 40 years as a UNESCO World Heritage site this year, select a mystery object from the bag and find the connection in the building, as we discover something new together.
- The tours are designed for all ages and take no longer than ten minutes. You are very welcome to join us for more than one!
Where to find us: We will start by the Font (which is opposite the Visitor Desk), and a member of the Learning and Education team will come to get you when the next tour begins.
Colouring Tables
Monday 23 February – Friday 27 February, 11am – 3pm
- Stop by the colouring tables at the Font and create a masterpiece to take home.
Just dropping in…
Saturday 21 February – Sunday 1 March, 10am – 4pm (Sundays 11am – 4pm)
- Explore blockbuster filming locations, including the Chapter House
- Refuel in the Undercroft café with a ‘Kids eat free’ offer
- Let off steam in the woodlands and riverbanks surrounding the cathedral
- Kids over 8 years old can climb the 325 steps to the top of the Tower
- Borrow a backpack filled with fun activities, from binoculars to see up high to torches for those secret spaces. Head to the Visitor Desk to borrow yours
