AGLOW at Auckland Castle, Bishop Auckland

Auckland Palace’s dazzling light trail AGLOW will light up the skies of Bishop Auckland once again this Christmas.

AGLOW is one of the most spectacular Christmas light trails in the North East. With 22 incredible illuminations and some of the largest light installations in the country, AGLOW is a must-see experience for all the family.

Begin your journey at Auckland Palace and embark on a glittering 1.5-mile trail through Auckland Palace’s gardens and grounds, with surprises around every corner.

We recommend allowing one and a half hours to complete the trail, giving you plenty of time to enjoy delicious festive food and warming drinks along the way.

Please note, this a dog-friendly event. They must be on a lead at all times.

Things to see:

AGLOW features 22 incredible light displays, with new illuminations for 2024. Don’t miss one of the largest Christmas trees in the North of England, the longest outdoor light tunnel in the country and Santa’s Village, where you can enjoy regular performances by Santa and his mischievous elves.

Accessibility:

We are offering a shorter accessible route this year, to make sure as many people as possible can enjoy AGLOW. Accessible route tickets are discounted by 50% and free carer tickets are also available.

For guests who want to experience the magic of AGLOW at a more relaxed pace, we also have sensory sessions available on Thursday 28 November, Thursday 5 December and Thursday 12 December at 4.30pm and 5pm.
