Webbs Enchanted Gardens 2024
My family and I visited Webbs Enchanted Gardens over the weekend. The weather forecast was awful, but we bundled up warm and prepared ourselves—and we were so glad we did! We had such a lovely evening.
We’ve visited the Enchanted Gardens several times before and always enjoy it, but this year, we decided to book an afternoon tea in an igloo before doing the walk.
The Enchanted Gardens are themed around Alice in Wonderland this year, and that theme extends into the igloos as well. The igloos are now located in an area behind the café (so if you’ve visited before, note that they’ve changed location—this change allows them to serve you warm food this year!). You can choose between a traditional afternoon tea or a savoury platter. We opted for a mix and shared everything, which worked out great. The desserts, in particular, were delicious. They also offer a children’s afternoon tea, which was a hit with my daughter and niece.
The area around the igloos is decorated with Christmas trees, twinkling lights, and Alice-themed decorations. Inside the igloos, you’ll find more festive and Alice-inspired decor, as well as a lovely afternoon tea setup, which is always pretty on its own. Plus, I’m happy to say that each igloo is equipped with heaters and a blanket on each chair, so it was cosy and warm despite the chilly weather outside.
Afterwards, we strolled through the gardens and thoroughly enjoyed that too. We took about 200 photos between us, which shows just how beautiful it was! A few of our favourite parts included walking through the keyhole, ‘falling’ down the rabbit hole, meeting the White Rabbit, seeing the Mad Hatter’s tea party setup, and exploring the Queen of Hearts areas. As always, we loved the woodlands area, which was lit up with beautiful lights, and the snowfall toward the end of the walk. It’s a wonderful experience for all ages—definitely one to enjoy with both kids and grandparents!
Since it’s an evening event, you can visit any day—there’s no need to wait for the weekend. However, if you do have time for a full day out, make sure to explore the garden centre as well.
At the end of the walk, you can warm up with a hot drink or grab a snack in a teepee. And last but not least, for a small extra fee, you can enjoy a ride on the teacups, which is always a favourite ride for us, and of course a great addition to the Alice theme!
We didn’t opt to see Santa, but I noticed plenty of visitors who did, leaving with big smiles and lovely photo keepsakes.
Webbs Enchanted Gardens are open daily until Thursday, January 2, 2025, with Santa available until December 29. They are closed only on December 24–26.
