Unwrap Joy: Kid’s activity gift experiences
As Christmas approaches, why not think beyond traditional toys and gadgets and give a gift that gets children moving, trying something new and making memories?
From outdoor adventures and adrenaline-filled activities to football, new hobbies, escape rooms and family days out, there are lots of ways to give an experience rather than another present that ends up in the toy box!
Here are some ideas for activity, active and sporty gift experiences in and around Kidderminster, Stourbridge and Dudley.
🌳 Outdoor Adventure
For children who love being outdoors and getting stuck into a challenge, an adventure experience can make a brilliant gift.
Habberley Trail – Kidderminster
For a local outdoor adventure, Habberley Trail is hard to beat. With an adventure trail, obstacle courses, mazes, challenges, giant swings and a zip line, there’s plenty to keep active children (and grown-ups!) busy.
Gift vouchers are available, making it an easy experience to wrap up for Christmas. And don’t forget to use your Raring2go! discount code when booking.
Go Ape – Wyre Forest
Get up into the trees at Go Ape Wyre Forest, with treetop adventures and high ropes among the woodland. There are options for younger adventurers as well as more challenging courses for older children and teens.
Go Ape gift cards and experience vouchers are available, so you can choose a specific experience or let them decide how they want to spend their gift.
And there’s a Raring2go! discount available, so make sure you use our link when booking.
River Severn Canoes
A little more seasonal, but a brilliant gift to look forward to when the warmer weather returns! River Severn Canoes offers family-friendly canoe and kayak trips on the River Severn, as well as kayaking on the Kinver Canal.
Gift vouchers are available from £5 and can be personalised, making this a lovely experience to put under the Christmas tree for an outdoor-loving child or family.
River Severn Canoes is open from spring through to autumn, so this is one to give now and look forward to when the weather warms up again.
Ackers Adventure – Birmingham
A little further afield, but definitely worth the trip for adventurous kids, Ackers Adventure in Birmingham offers a huge choice of activities including skiing, tubing, climbing, canoeing, kayaking, archery, zip wires and more. They also run children’s activity days and experiences, so there are plenty of ways to give an active experience rather than another present.
🏎️ Adrenaline & Indoor Action
For older children and teens who would rather race, jump, compete or take on a challenge, there are plenty of high-energy experiences to choose from.
Full Throttle Raceway – Stourbridge
Get the adrenaline going with indoor karting at Full Throttle Raceway. There’s a dedicated kids’ track for younger drivers from age 4, alongside the main race track for older children and adults.
Gift vouchers are available, so you can give the experience without having to choose a date.
And if you’re booking before 1 December 2026, don’t forget to use the current Raring2go! discount code. Check the terms when booking as the offer has a limited validity period.
Courtyard Escapes – Stourbridge
Put your teamwork skills to the test at Courtyard Escapes in Stourbridge. Their immersive escape rooms challenge players to solve clues, crack codes and complete missions before the clock runs out.
With different themes to choose from, it’s a great option for older children, teenagers and families who enjoy solving puzzles together.
Gift vouchers are available, so you can give the experience now and choose the date later.
Aztec Island Adventure Golf – Stourbridge
For something a little less adrenaline-fuelled but still competitive, head to Aztec Island Adventure Golf in Stourbridge. The indoor 18-hole course takes you through an Aztec-themed jungle and beach setting, making it a fun option for families, friends and older children.
Gift vouchers are available, and because it’s indoors, it’s an activity you can enjoy whatever the weather.
And if you’re booking before 5 November 2026, don’t forget to use the current Raring2go! discount code. Check the terms when booking as the offer has a limited validity period.
Showcase Dudley
For children who’d rather sit back and enjoy the action, a cinema gift card makes an easy experience gift. Showcase Dudley has 14 screens, XPlus and Gallery options, and of course a huge choice of films throughout the year.
Showcase gift cards are available as both physical cards and e-gift cards, and can be used towards film tickets and cinema treats.
Boing Zone – Stourbridge
Jump, bounce, flip and compete at Boing Zone, with trampolines and a range of activities designed to get children moving.
Gift cards are available, making this another easy experience to wrap up for Christmas.
Laser Quest – Stourbridge
For children aged 7+, Laser Quest is a great choice for a fun and competitive experience with friends or family. Race around the arena, work as a team and see who can come out on top!
Check current sessions and gift options when booking.
VR & Gaming Experiences
For older children and teens who love gaming, there are also local VR experiences at VR BOX in Kidderminster and Fun City in Dudley – a fun alternative to another gaming-related present.
🤸 Try a New Sport or Activity
Has your child always wanted to try gymnastics, martial arts, dance, cheerleading, tennis or another activity? Christmas could be the perfect time to give them a few lessons or a term of classes.
For some families, regular activities aren’t always easy to fit into the budget, so spending some of the Christmas present budget on something your child genuinely wants to try could be a lovely alternative to more toys.

Football Fans –
For children who would happily spend every day kicking a football, why not give them some extra coaching or a football experience?
The Footballers Academy runs youth football coaching in the Stourbridge area, with sessions for different age groups as well as football camps.
KIXX is another option for younger football fans, with football sessions designed around different age groups.
Both are a great alternative to another football-related toy; giving children the chance to improve their skills, have fun and make friends while they’re at it!
Swimming, Climbing & Getting Active –
Another idea – Local leisure centres including DB Leisure’s Crystal Leisure Centre in Stourbridge and Wyre Forest Leisure Centre in Kidderminster offer a range of activities for children, from swimming and climbing to gymnastics and trampolining.
If there’s something your child has been asking to try, paying for a block of lessons or sessions could make a much more memorable present than another toy.
🎁 Give Them Something To Do, Not Something Else To Put Away!
Whether it’s climbing through the trees, learning a new sport, racing around a karting track, trying gymnastics for the first time, mastering a martial art, performing on stage or solving an escape room together, activity experiences can give children something to look forward to long after Christmas Day.
And you don’t always need an actual gift voucher. If the activity doesn’t offer one, make your own little voucher to wrap up and give on Christmas morning – then book the experience when you’re ready.
Before buying, always check the latest age restrictions, dates, availability and voucher terms, as these can change.
