The LoveReading family — LoveReading and LoveReading4Kids exists because reading matters, and books change lives.
We all know reading is key to unlocking success across the curriculum. We know that improving reading standards has a huge impact on students’ wellbeing, academic achievement, and future success.
In addition, we know the current funding crisis has resulted in devastating cuts to school budgets.
LOVEREADING4KIDS SUPPORTING SCHOOLS
This is why LoveReading4Kids is working to redress that shortfall through an online book shop with social purpose. LoveReading relaunched as online bookstores in 2022, when a customer purchases any book from LoveReading.co.uk or LoveReading4Kids.co.uk, 25% of every sale can be donated to a school of the customer’s choice. This has so far resulted in over £40,000 donated to schools across the UK.
If a customer does not select a school to allocate the 25% donation to, 10% of these sales are added to a funding pot prioritising schools in real need. Schools can apply to receive this funding pot via the LoveReading4Kids Funding for Schools Scheme. So far over 450 schools have applied for this scheme.
Whether it is a school purchasing books for their classrooms or a book lover buying a much-awaited new release, every book purchased can help a school close to your heart.
The LoveReading4Kids Schools Portal is a hub of bookish content and educational resources for schools; over 17,000 schools are using these features for free. LoveReading4Kids gives the tools, advice and recommendations for even the most reluctant of readers to find their next favourite book.
You can read the latest bookish content relevant to School Librarians and Teachers, read book reviews and access opening extracts of books and view tons of resources so that you can try before you buy, and view annually updated recommended reading lists for every age range, year group and school subject, giving teachers, school librarians and parents ideas for new reading material.
GIVING BACK TO SCHOOLS
There is a wishlist function where you can compile a list of wished for books, share with your school and local community to gift your school books, as well as allocating your school a 25% donation on every purchase.
Schools are switching to using LoveReading4Kids to purchase their reading for pleasure books, with 10% off RRPs and 25% of every order donated back to their school to purchase more books, it’s a great new way of purchasing books for your school.
