Review: The Great Summer Social @ York McArthur Glen Designer Outlet

As a parent of 2 school age children, the summer holidays ALWAYS means school shoe shopping! So off we popped to the designer outlet in York to get both boys measured and school shoes bought at the Clark’s outlet! They had a great choice of shoes for both boys and I came away happier at paying outlet prices!

But for the boys, shopping in general is a tad boring, so we were so pleased when we heard about The Great Summer Social taking place at the designer outlet throughout the summer holidays – and even better, it’s FREE! The boys (and grandma) enjoyed a round of miniature golf, a play in the huge sandpit, shooting some hoops and table tennis – it was brilliant bribery for shopping! There’s plenty of seating around for parents and deckchairs too. Unfortunately it was raining on our visit, but that didn’t stop the boys having loads of fun.

My only advice would be; if it’s been bad weather, take a pair of sand shoes or similar to play in the sand with as the fun isn’t undercover so the sand pit can get VERY wet!

We will definitely be popping back later this month for another visit – it’s a great way to break up a shopping trip, for everyone!
