We were asked to review the Gotrovo Mealtime Treasure Hunt. I have to say I was a bit sceptical to start with; my girls have always been fussy eaters (I was as a child so now know how my Mum felt!) I tried it with both girls - 3 ½ and 6 years old.

Well - not a moan from either! Empty plates/ bowls from them both, and they wanted more food to do the hunt again as soon as they had finished! I was very impressed with the quality of the product - looking at the box before I opened it, I thought the cutlery was plastic, but I was wrong - all very hard wearing.

I liked how the treasure hunt is individual and adaptable to each child. For one you can say, €˜for every 2 mouthfuls move a space', whilst for another you can say €˜For each carrot you eat move a space'. This makes it so versatile for different meals as well!

The children start with a plate of food as normal, sitting on a treasure map (exciting in itself!) but the treasure is hidden under their plate, and the only way to find it is to follow the path with the gold coin. The placemat is double sided and we spent each mealtime talking about the different 0b004cfe1a44b56b6b941658275a4c53.jpgpictures on the mats, it made for a VERY pleasant mealtime.

My sister came over, and saw we had it and asked if it was good, I explained it to her, and she doesn't have fussy eaters, but my niece wanted to try it - huge hit with her too - just for pure fun, rather than to solve a mealtime issue.

The box set is a valuable tool, with some great handy hints and tips, on nutrition as well as using the mealtime treasure hunt.

My only problem now is I have 1 mealtime treasure hunt and 2 children! (currently solved by lunchtimes for 1 and tea for the other!)
