Booking is now open to enrol your child in creative activities at Aspex this summer!
Meet us in the city, before walking as a group to Aspex, taking inspiration from the sights we see along the way. Back at the gallery, take part in creative activities exploring exciting new artworks and enjoy a healthy hot meal.
Free spaces are also available for children and young people eligible for free school meals, as part of the government’s expanded Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme being delivered across Portsmouth.
29 July, 10am–3pm: Ages 14–16
Explore new rap and illustration work by Hardeep Pandhal and 3D animation by Jaf Yusuf, as we discuss and respond to conversations around race, class, identity, memory and family, and learn creative techniques to express your own views and experiences.
5 August, 10am–3pm: Ages 9–11
In this workshop we will get a chance to learn a range of new creative skills inspired by the artwork on display in the gallery, as we look at science fiction creatures in a laboratory and craft paper installations.
12 August, 10am–3pm: Ages 9–11
This workshop will focus on learning and using digital skills such as photography and videography, as well as practical model making. We will explore public art and sculptures – from Portsmouth’s monuments to road-side giant dinosaurs in America!
