Review of Pcket Swing and Periscope
We took advantage of some nice dry weather to try out the Hape Pocket Swing and Hide-and-Seek Periscope.
Hape Pocket Swing
Product Information: Relax when you’re out in nature with this fun portable swing set! Once set up between two strong trees, it provides a fun swing or a place for children to sit. Swing length : 51 inches; Webbed straps 71 inches; Total swing length 122 inches; Weight limit: 242 lbs.
Available from Amazon for around £20.00
The swing comes in a neat little bag – everything you need is included (apart from the trees) and fits neatly in the bag so nothing gets lost and it is small to throw into a rucksack for country walks. We took ours camping and to woods near the beach and it takes up no space at all, which is great for days out.
The swing pack contains a piece of strong material, tree ties and metal clips. You have to put the swing together each time you use it, but it is very quick and simple. Once you have found the 2 trees you want to attach the swing to you tie one strap around the trunk and then feed it through the swing ‘seat’. You then do the same on the other tree.
My husband fitted the swing by himself whilst I held the coffee and the girls had great fun swinging on their own and together (the swing can hold up to 100Kg so will suit children big and small!). I love this product because of how small it is and because we love camping it brings new fun to our walks. I would definitely recommend this product for families who enjoy forest walks.
Hape Hide-and-seek Periscope
Product Information: See without being seen with this cool periscope! Made of sustainable bamboo, it allows you to peek over walls and into rabbit and bird holes. Comes with a handy wrist strap.
Available from Amazon for around £10.00
The periscope comes in a box and is ready to use straight away. It is a lovely strong and sturdy product. My eldest already has a periscope, so our 5 year old took the lead on this. It is a much nicer product that the other one we have. It comes with a wrist strap which is a great addition to something like this that a child will be playing with outside and taking on walks.
The periscope was great fun for the kids spying on each other and us…they were able to hide behind trees and grass mounds and were able to clearly see what was going on without being seen. They also randomly walk around the house using it! We love that it is made from sustainable bamboo. For little spies and children who love seeing the world and nature differently this is definitely a great buy!
