Classes for all Ages including:
Parent and toddler (2-4 years)
This class builds fundamental gymnastics skills at a young age, so by the age of 3 children are ready to work independently. The class begins with a soft play introduction, moving on to a sponge run. Various activities follow, including low rings, fast-track trampoline, bars beam, parachute and an activity circuit, and change from week to week. Sessions last for 1 hour finishing with songs and stickers. Parents are encouraged to join in with their child, so come along and have some fun!
Pre School Gymnastics Classes (3 - 5 years)
The ‘Funkycat’ scheme & the pre-school proficiency awards employed at Gymworld introduce fun physical activity to pre-school children. Each session begins with games, stretches, and a foam pit run. Children then follow a carefully designed programme working towards their award - improving action, balance and co-ordination. Parents, Grandparents and carers are encouraged to join in with their child, so come along and have some fun! Each term they will follow a different theme, which is accompanied with a certificate and badge. This is followed by the chance to have a go on one of the pieces of apparatus we offer in our facility. Each session lasts for one hour and finishes with songs and stickers. These sessions are booked on a termly basis.
Gymnastics for Beginners (5 - 12 years)
Participants follow the British Gymnastics Proficiency Awards Scheme covering eight sets of ten exercises. For levels 1-8 there is a badge and certificate award available. Following on from these badges are the more advanced bronze, silver and gold proficiency awards. Sessions involve all children warming up together, playing games and performing stretches; they then spilt into smaller groups.
For the first part of the session they work towards their awards, for the second part they work on one of the pieces of apparatus - bars, beam, rings, fast-track trampoline or vault. Each session lasts for one hour and finishes with a race through the sponge pit. These sessions are booked on a termly basis.
Adult Gymnastics (16 years +)
These sessions are open to all who want to try their hand at gymnastics but are also a progression from the advanced gymnastic classes. There are no specific awards for these sessions and the learning of skills is the individuals’ choice subject to ability.
Schools can book in for day time gymnastic sessions. Qualified and experienced Gymworld staff and coaches are on hand to lead sessions and support student and staff learning.
