Covid Safe Teaching at Saturday School Success has an excellent reputation for providing outstanding teaching to all of our children. All of our tutors are teachers within Birmingham schools and the centre is run by a retired headteacher with 14 years in headship, who is still working part time in a Streetly School, enabling all staff to keep up to date with current educational practice. Therefore, we are able to meet the needs of your child by following the objectives of the National Curriculum, but we are able to give the time and the conversation to your children enabling a two-way learning experience.
As a company we thrive on praise, confidence building and absolutely no computers or I pads! All the teachers believe in small interactive groups (no more than three children and one adult) Our small groups work as this encourages a happy learning environment without 1-1 pressure, a little competition helps as it enables tasks to be finished in a given time scale. At the end of every lesson feedback is given to parents and recommendations to carry on at home are also provided. Children receive weekly homework, this will be put into the children’s work folders, marked and returned.
We run four tuition sessions a week, two sessions on Wednesdays and two on Saturdays; on Wednesdays we have sessions running at 4:20-5:20pm and 5:30-6:30pm these take place at Holy Trinity Church Centre, Church Hill, Mill Street, (parking is available on site).
Saturday sessions run from 9:50-10:50am and 11am-12pm taking place at Streetly Methodist Church, Thornhill Road (parking is available on site, with a friendly coffee and cake morning taking place in the church hall, in which parents are more than welcome to join).
All ages and subjects are accommodated at all sessions. We are able to offer tutoring to Key Stage 1; Year 1 and Year 2. Key Stage 2; Years 3-6, 11+ starting in year 5 and SATS preparation. For Key stage 3 and 4 core subjects, Maths, English and Science are available with GSCE revision and final preparation provided.
All our teachers are DBS checked and have received safeguarding training in their schools. We have a first aider on site and make sure we are aware of all allergies and medical conditions.
We are open in school half terms and for four weeks in the Summer holiday to ensure learning continues. In the Summer holidays we offer two-hour sessions to our 11+ children in readiness for their September test.
Payment is monthly in advance. The cost is £85 for four sessions. Catch ups can be made as long as we know in advance or your child is poorly and unable to attend their usual session. For new customers there is a free assessment and a consultation with the tutor before any decisions are made.
