What's happening on 12th April?

Not everywhere can reopen and we will update you in May when a few more can do so.  In the meantime, we wanted to share with you what a few local businesses are doing and how they will be doing it to keep you and your family safe!


The Little Gym Harpenden opens for regular classes on the 12th of April in their Covid safe, fun and nurturing environment. Classes for 4months -12years open 7 days a week with limited spaces available in all age groups. 

Are you ready to play, move and learn with Baby College? Each week they have lots of fun and give you insights into ways you can help support your little one’s development. Their lovely classes include physical movement, dancing, singing, sensory play, baby signing and parachute and bubbles; fun and learning all wrapped up in a COVID-secure, sociable session. Secure your space on the mat now in Harpenden, Welwyn Garden City or St Albans. 12 week term starts April 19th. 

NEW to Harpenden from 13th April is Mini Mozart at Harpenden Musicale! Let’s be honest - there are LOADS of pre-school music classes out there for babies & toddlers.  But why would you choose one without live music?! Mini Mozart introduces children to pitch, rhythm, dynamics and tempo via orchestral instruments with a piano accompaniment 9b0aec86d82dc5c5b8b5c1bdea9aedf3.jpg- and lots of FUN!

Tick Tock Music for the under 5's have been busy over the last year delivering classes via YouTube and live on zoom. They are now very excited to be able to see their young audiences (and their parents) in person. Face to face classes start back on Thursday 15th April, 10.15 at St Michael's Church Hall. To keep everybody safe numbers are limited and family bubbles can sit at 2m distance from each other and adults will be asked to wear a mask while inside. Each bubble will have their own set of sanitised props and instruments so they can safely join in and nothing is passed from bubble to bubble. The Tick Tock star will be back, allowing those children who want to take centre stage a chance. This is a star in the centre of the room that is 2m from all the bubbles and children will be encouraged to come up and dance or act during 42c798c2b643984ddfb2c89bd06ff368.jpgour songs. The leaders will also be taking covid tests the night before the class.

The hugely popular Baby Sensory classes return to venues in St. Albans & Harpenden from 12 April, with full Covid-secure measures in place and a new class leader, Nic Owen! They provide an ideal place to have much-needed social interaction with other parents & babies alongside our educational, interactive & developmental activities. Book your place today!


Pixie Studios is a Theatre School based in St Albans. Your child can learn Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Singing and Acting, all in one Musical Theatre class saving parents time and money.  Their Tiny & Little Pixie classes are lots of fun, using props, games and music to aid in learning and their Junior and Senior Musical Theatre students get lots of opportunities to perform at local events throughout the year as well as at the end of year show. This month they have their CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG Easter Camp and have just a few places left.

Jigsaw Arts are scheduled to return to the Marlborough Science Academy from the 1st May for the summer term. Classes run on Saturday mornings for ages 3-18. There is a two week trial available to all new students. 

Stagecoach is back! It’s not too late to join for a two week trial and experience all that is Stagecoach: Outstanding teachers for all disciplines, learn how to SING, DANCE & ACT, gain the confidence to be who they want to be, classes 4634e354101e20a5613fd2a974cc27b7.jpgfor 4-16 year olds, OFSTED Registered, Childcare Choice Vouchers (Govt scheme) accepted, small classes - only 15 max per class, have fun all within Covid-safe guidelines 

Brilliant Theatre Arts launch weekly sessions for young performers. with their youth theatre that offers training through high-standard production and performances. Enhancing and developing skills through practice.

NSG are extremely excited and honoured to be able to re open in April after what has been an really tough year for everyone. Classes will resume from the 12th April 2021.  Every class will be reduced in size and follow their risk assessment to accommodate the latest guidelines and make sure everyone is kept safe. They are also extremely excited to bring some new teachers to the NSG team, including Chris Donnelly (Got to dance winner 2011) and Alisha Nadine, professional dancer and teacher. 

Lucy Hunt School of Dance are thrilled to announce the return to their under 18’s classes from the 12th April. Having online classes via zoom for the best part of a year, they cannot wait to be back in their venues and continue being a fun and friendly dance school - really like a little family. When they return, all classes will be socially distanced with limited numbers of pupils in each class. They offer classes for pupils of all abilities, from 18 months up to adults - in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Musical Theatre, along with their bespoke ‘Lucy’s Little Prancers’ and Nursery Tap classes for pre schoolers.

Would you like your child to improve on their English language and literature? STRIVE is all about performance without pressure while learning life skills in drama and performing, so this maybe the class for them! Strive provide classes on zoom and small group face2face classes in St Albans and Finchley - which will be returning from 20th April onwards.


Nurture in Nature Forest School begins again on 13th April. Parent-Child sessions run on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday’s in Harpenden. Drop off sessions for Home Educated children run every Tuesday afternoon. Sessions take place outdoors in the woods, hand sanitising points and hand washing stations are available and all equipment is cleaned or quarantined between groups.

Willows Activity Farm will be re-opening it's outside areas with their Covid secure Visit Britain ‘Good to Go’ standard and limited tickets to ensure social distancing.  All the adventure play, inflatables, funfair rides, children’s shows, animals, sheep racing and Peter Rabbit’s Adventure Playground are included in our entrance price. 

With the arrival of spring on the farm; budding trees, new lambs and a new bull too, Muddy Mice are delighted to be reopening and welcoming their young Muddy mice back. They have modified their activities and rearranged the Den to help keep everyone safe.

Rockin Romans (formerly Verulamium FunPlay) is now open! They are in Verulamium Park fdd531d1d67cf66a65af70c3c7733e0a.jpgnext to the playground, 7 days a week and have 9 hole mini adventure golf and trampolines. No need to book, just rock up! 


Showtime Circus are SO excited to be reopening weekly classes on the 12th April and have strict COVID measures in place to ensure children's safety. They are running their full timetable of awesome circus classes including General Circus Classes, Superhero Classes, Dance and more learning skills such as aerial hoop, acrobatics, juggling, stiltwalking at their newly rigged studio in Harpenden, Roundwood Park School. Children have individual "Circus Spots and Stations" ensuring that social distancing can easily be maintained, and can even be FUN! Any shared equipment is quarantined or sanitised in between uses and children are in STRICT bubbles of no more than 15.  They are SO happy to enable children to get back to what they do best - CIRCUS and to have fun and let off some steam!

Kaptivate Kids are excited to get back to offering children’s parties! From the 12th April they can offer all kids and teen parties outdoors or indoors with max.15 attending, increasing on the 17th May to max. 30 and finally from the 21st June all parties resume back to normal! PBB Events (Pregnancy, Birth and Beyond) are looking forward to getting back to some face to face classes from April if all is well with Covid. These face to face sessions will be weekend one stop days allowing them to deliver their program all in one day. One thing that lock down has highlighted however is how accessible zoom makes classes so they will continue with these as well including their 3 week evening course, pregnancy modules and popular free monthly pregnancy club.

Centred Mums is currently running specialist Pilates classes for pelvic floor health and restoring core function online. If you are pregnant or have ever been pregnant – even if that was 20 years ago! – Centred Mums is for you. If you have abdominal separation, pelvic floor issues, or you are unsure how to manage pain when exercising you may benefit from our online classes and courses.
