The Cotswold Show

The Cotswold Show

As restrictions continue to lift, The Cotswold Show is going full steam ahead and set to deliver a bumper event for all to enjoy. With everything from dancing sheep to BMX stunt riders performing at cloud grazing heights, the excitement continues to build for the return of the buzzing main arenas, filled with show stopping attractions once more.

Following a mundane year for many, the show's main prerogative is to provide attendees an injection of excitement and thrill, with not only the main arena attractions, but the surrounding entertainment as well!

The show's founder, The Earl Bathurst said: ‘The Cotswold Show team has been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to deliver a bumper show for this year.  After the sad cancellation of so many events due to the pandemic, there is a huge appetite for families to be able to get out and about again.  The Cotswold Show has always been a firm favourite, with its wide variety of attractions for all ages, showcasing activities from the farming and countryside industries, with added entertainments. I am looking forward to personally welcoming everyone back again to our show in the heart of Cirencester Park.'

Show Director Claudia Wilson said: ‘The decision to cancel The Cotswold Show was only the second time in its 32-year history, the first being due to the foot and mouth epidemic, but it was still an exceedingly difficult one to make, knowing that it would be such a huge disappointment to so many thousands of families.  So, this year we will be putting on the best show ever to try and make up for the awful year everyone endured last year.'

Despite the events of the past year, The Bathurst Arena is set to be alive with elation for spectators. With attractions including the UK's leading freestyle mountain bike stunt team with incredibly exciting stunts on their BMX bikes, along with Hawkeye Falconry, who astonish with their variety of birds of prey soaring through the crowds! For equestrian and country enthusiasts, we have Polo demonstrations provided by The Cotswold Polo Academy, based at Cirencester Park Polo Club- the oldest polo club in Great Britain- along with BSTD national championships which will see teams and their ponies race around the arena against the clock whilst the crowds shout and cheer for their favourite teams to scurry to victory.

The Apsley arena is no less impressive this year, with everything from working ferret displays, to dancing dogs, terrier racing and gundog training. And the best part… with arena attractions repeating twice daily in both The Bathurst and The Apsley, you do not have to choose between the two!

The back-to-back spectaculars are not all that this year's show has to offer, with entertainment splashed all around the showground, there is something for everyone. Cookery theatre, shopping, country pursuits, traditional rural skills, and family entertainment, you will be kept busy all day.

This year's show is setting up to be just as fun packed and exciting as its preceding years. It really is a great day out for all.
