Tap n Groove Children's Dance Workshops

Everyone loves to dance. T’n’G allows children to learn new grooves and express themselves through movement and dance building confidence and self esteem with (optional) ISTD Street Dance & Hip Hop Exams, Shows and performances.

The music is ‘bang on trend’ R’n’B, dance, house and old skool funk. It’s an ideal environment for your child to evolve into a little Kimberley Wyatt or Ashley Banjo.

It incorporates 30 mins American tap dance to stomping jazz house music and 30 mins Street dance learning BBoy, Locking, Popping, Tutting, House, Contemporary and Jazz style. Senior class includes “Crew” rehearsal.

It  is a great chance to be inspiried and grasp the Tap’n’Groove method of movement, rhythms, and relationships. The classes will give your child an opportunity to begin to build a sound tap technique, understand rhythm and it’s development, appreciate musical styles, and encourage a sense of  expression and self confidence. Plus make new friends.

Tap ‘n’ Groove is fresh, energetic and ‘bang on trend’ – learn street dance, BBoy, Locking, Popping, Tutting, Vogueing, HipHop, American Tap, Break Beats and Rhythms!

Move and groove with Tap ‘n’ Groove dance workshop! With the unique blend of dance it’s a great way to keep fit and have fun!

Tap ‘n’ Groove was inspired by a wonderful space full of light, a vast space, and when Principal Mary Grigg viewed it she visioned it being full of children of all abilities and individual in their own way to come together and learn, grow and enjoy the wonder Dance can bring into their lives.
Tap ‘n’ Groove was born. Beginning with one class of 15 children in 2005 to now 132 pupils with four different branches with more planned for the future. Student’s learn to enjoy music and movement, co–ordination, be part of a ‘crew’ and have the freedom to express themselves in a safe environment, through dance – it’s a great way to keep fi t and have fun.

The CDET have this to say.. “Schools and individuals awarded one of CDET’s Recognised Awards demonstrate to students, parents and guardians that they adhere to the standards demanded by the industry; standards designed to protect and safeguard young people whether dancing for leisure or with an eye to a career in the profession.”
