Home-Start Bolton

Home-Start Bolton trains parent volunteers to provide free, confidential one-to-one support and guidance as well as practical and emotional aid to families with a child under the age of 5.
Our service has been a lifeline to parents in Bolton for nearly 30 years.  We are a trusted and valued Charity that helps families with everyday struggles as well as complex issues like multiple births, depression and disability.  Home-Start has experienced an increase in demand for services in the past year andvolunteers are urgently needed to support the growing numbers of families in Bolton who need a helping hand.
We run a ten week course on working with families, to train suitable volunteers.  Our course covers confidentiality issues, safeguarding of children, raising awareness of domestic violence and the development of listening skills.  Our training has helped volunteers to secure places on a variety of courses such as social work and has enabled others to gain experience and confidence.
Our next Volunteer Preparation Course starts in April 2013 (9.30am until 1.00pm) and will be held at a town centre location in Bolton. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and can commit to attending the 10 week preparation course, please visit our website where you can download a copy of the application form or contact Sharon McDermott on the
telephone numbers provided below and we will be happy to send you an application pack in the post. 01204 362786/01204 381373 www.homestartbolton.org.uk
