The first clinic of its kind in the Northwest to receive Care Quality Commission approval, it now provides national coverage through clinics in Manchester, Birmingham and London. Parents can have peace of mind that no child immunised by the clinic has ever been hospitalised or taken seriously ill.
Vaccinations are available for measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, meningitis, polio, HIb/MenC, diptheria, tetanus, tuberculosis (BCG), pneumococcal meningitis, cervical cancer (HPV), travel vaccines, young adult cervical smear tests, swine flu and pneumonia.
Chickenpox kills 25 children and adults every year in the UK. In America and Canada all children are routinely vaccinated against this childhood disease through a government vaccination programme. In the UK the NHS does not offer free vaccination unless the child is twelve years old and has not had chickenpox. The Children's Immunisation Centre offers it privately so that your child can avoid the discomfort and scarring that chickenpox causes. Chickenpox vaccination fully prevents infection in 95% of cases. The minority who do not achieve full immunity will experience much milder symptoms. There is also evidence that vaccination within 5 days of exposure can also prevent or reduce symptoms.
