Step across a crystal clear river and enter a little piece of paradise. Follow winding paths through the trees, with the sound of water never far away.
Carpets of spring bulbs, a stunning walled rose garden, rich autumn leaves and a colourful winter garden make this National Trust property a feast for the senses all year round. There's space to run, jump and play, and always something for families to do.
Enjoy exploring and testing your limits in Mottisfont's Wild Play areas: try out your balancing acts in the Boggy Climbing area, make a splash with our Pump, Pool and Paddle and build a den in Hidden Hideouts. Officially named as one of the best places in the country to play Poohsticks, there are all sorts of natural features you can explore and play with around the grounds. Mottisfont has created a special family map to help you discover the best places to play: just ask at visitor reception when you visit.
There are seasonal activity trails to enjoy in the school holidays, taking you on adventures around the grounds with puzzles, games and crafty activities. Inside the house, you can become an art expert in the gallery and uncover mysteries in our rooms with spotter trails. Every summer, Mottisfont holds an exhibition that's especially appealing for younger audiences, featuring famous children's illustrators.
Mottisfont has family friendly facilities, including two cafés with children's menus, picnic areas, and an ice cream parlour and additional kiosks open in good weather.
