The Chafynch Nursery at Chafyn Grove School
The first thing that children in The Chafynch Nursery discover is that life is busy and fun and lots of learning goes on!
From making mud cakes for the fairies in 'Dingley Dell', our hidden woods, to planning and building cardboard box cities and waterways, helped by their bigger friends in the Reception class; Chaffinches are always on the go!
Tired and hungry from their labours, the nursery children enjoy a cooked lunch in the school dining room, followed by a trip to the adventure playground. As well as activities in the classroom and outside areas, children enjoy the extra interest of visits by teachers from the Prep School for ICT, music, ballet, and swimming in the (heated!) outdoor swimming pool.
The caring family atmosphere of our nursery provides what every parent wants for their child; a secure and stimulating environment where children feel safe to play and learn alongside friends.
Encouragement and praise are fundamental to our approach; children work closely with adults who plan and support their individual learning, share in their achievements and celebrate their successes. At Chafyn Grove you will find that relationships are based on genuine warmth and affection and children and adults form strong bonds.
We offer the flexibility that parents need to fit in with family circumstances and each child's developing needs. We are happy to offer nursery sessions to suit this; some children start with as little as one session per week whilst others attend full time from day one.
It's difficult to believe that so much goes on in a preschool so why not come along and see us in action, or visit our toddler group which meets on a Tuesday morning?
