Raring2go! Salisbury is for sale
BUSINESS FOR SALE!
Could you be the next Owner/Editor of Raring2go? Are you a Mumpreneur in the making?
Raring2go! gives you the opportunity to work for yourself, working the hours you want, around your busy family life. As the current editor, I've enjoyed being able to do all the school runs, attend school events and being able to care for the kids when they're off school sick. Snow days are not a problem!!
I don't work in the Easter holidays, most of August or December, and can plan around the half term breaks.
As a business owner, you would have lots of flexibility and the satisfaction of creating a vibrant quarterly magazine and a regularly updated website, which is loved by local parents.
Now in its 11th year, the Salisbury franchise of Raring2go! magazine and website has been built up from scratch, developing good working relationships with local business owners and schools in the process. We are now looking for a new editor to invest in the franchise and take the magazine forward.
The magazine is free to parents, so income is derived from the sale of print and digital advertising space.
The purchase price is negotiable, but will include:
- the right to distribute the magazine to schools and nurseries within the SP1-6 postcode area
- a database of contacts
- a distribution list of supporting schools and nurseries
- induction training from head office
- a full magazine cycle handover from the outgoing editor
- all forward sales from the point of taking over.
Subject to negotiation it can include:
- the option of print costs of two issues pre-paid for you
- the option of 6 months license fee pre-paid for you
The next owner/editor would ideally have some sales and marketing experience, but this is not essential - I came from a teaching background, so it was all completely new to me. If you're happy to talk to people, build relationships and roll your sleeves up to get stuck in, this could work for you.
While Raring2go! is a business where you work for yourself, you are never alone. We are part of a strong, supportive and very vibrant franchise network, full of passionate, funny and dedicated people all doing the same thing throughout the UK. It's like an extended family, where there's always someone on hand to give advice if you need it and we are all mums, who have come into this because we want to be able to work in an industry that allows us scope for creativity, immense job satisfaction and still be able to care for our families.
Full training will be given by the outgoing editor and the Head Office team, then ongoing support will always be available from our friendly network of experienced editors, head office and our tech support team when necessary.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a rewarding, new career move. If you've always dreamed of working for yourself and finding a way to keep the work / life balance firmly in check, Raring2go! might just be what you've been waiting for.
Email Helen Murray, the current editor, at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07726 912933 for more details
The Raring2go! franchise is a member of the British Franchise Association and Encouraging Women into Franchising. You can find out more about what it's like to be a Raring2go editor at getraring2go.co.uk
