Trentham Monkey Forest

Take a walk on the wild side and come to Trentham Monkey Forest the only place in the UK where you can actually walk amongst 140 Barbary macaques roaming free in 60 acres of beautiful English forest!

You will be mesmerised as you watch the monkeys playing in the trees and on the ground and don't be surprised if they stroll on the path straight in front of you as there are no bars or barriers here and visitors become totally engrossed in the monkeys lives.

75_Susan-Sophie-and-George-walking-on-path-portrait-great.jpgBabies start being born in the Spring and we usually have between 6-10 tiny new arrivals and we're sure you'll have great fun finding them (they weigh less than half a bag of sugar and have striking black coats and oversized ears) being carried and groomed by their mothers or other members of the group.  The fantastic setting allows the macaques to display natural behaviours as they would in the wild. Our guides are always at hand to explain their antics as they occur before your very eyes and ensure you catch our hourly feeding talks taking place in the forest.

The little monkeys in your party can then let of some steam on one of our two adventure playgrounds whilst you relax in our purpose built Banana cafe terrace our enjoy our lovely grassed picnic area. A visit to the Jungle shop is a monkey lovers delight to suit everyone from pencils to huge cuddly monkeys!

Situated 5 minutes drive from Junction 15 of the M6 Monkey Forest is a truly memorable experience.  So don't forget your cameras to capture those special moments as you immerse yourself in our monkey's lives.

Monkey Forest, Banana cafe and the Jungle shop are open every day from 10.00 am* with last entry 1 hour before closing.  *Please see website for seasonal variations or telephone 01782 659 845
