Forget the busy roads and petrol fumes and become a part of nature as you explore this peaceful stretch of river which meanders through the water meadows towards Dedham. You will see parts of the countryside only visible by boat and possibly not much will have changed since local artist John Constable used the Stour Valley as inspiration for his paintings all those years ago.
Boat hire costs from just ̣̉5 for half an hour but If you want to make a day of it, why not row up to Dedham, park the rowing boat at a dedicated landing stage and go for a meal in the village of Dedham or enjoy a picnic along the way, stop for an ice cream or cup of tea and then row back to Flatford.
We are open 7 days a week until October
Naughty but nice Puddings!
Check out our delicious puddings, my favourite is the limoncello trifle, not suitable for the kids, but there are some other scrummy recipes that the whole family can enjoy! Take a look in our pudding section for recipes to make summer BBQ's and eating alfresco all the more tasty! My girls LOVE the chocolate pizza - making it, but mostly eating it!
Over the weekends and holidays there are always times when your children need some chill out time, or to fill an hour or so, or they say the dreaded 5 letter word - BORED! Well, our KidsZone is here to rescue you and them from these moments. Full of puzzles, colouring in sheets and activities from films and programmes there is lots to keep busy!
