Work in a school? Know someone who works in a school? Have children in a school and want to pass on the message?
Share the magic, learn new skills, experience the wild. School trips now available for early years, primary and secondary schools across the North East.
Help us to spread the word and get more children region wide joining us at our stunning ancient woodland in Prudhoe.
Forest School is all about getting children outdoors, taking risks, working together and having FUN!
Build a den in the woods, learn how to make a campfire & cook in the outdoors.
Take part in fun outdoor games & get creative and make some something using natural materials.
Our practitioners are fully qualified Forest School leaders with educational backgrounds and we promote long term engagement to develop meaningful and lasting relationships between the children and the setting. Using our experience and knowledge of child development, we plan and deliver Forest School experiences based on individual progress, to encourage communication and risk assessment and to develop resilience and empathy. So as you can see, it’s so much more than campfire cooking, whittling, tree climbing and getting muddy!
The Deputy Head Teacher at Mountfield Primary says this:
"Stomping Grounds have been providing regular forest school sessions at our school for the last 4 years. Every class who work with them love the lessons and the opportunity to get up close to nature.
The forest school teachers are always highly professional and have excellent regard for the needs of individual children, as well as for the safety of the group. They form great relationships with the pupils and never fail to create interesting and inspiring learning that ensures our pupils always want to come back for more!"
