Regular Classes at The Ark, Crawcrook

Friday 9:30-10:30 - Sylvia Dobson School of Dance- Jitterbugs

Join Sylvia for a active session of movement and dance for preschoolers and parents. The session includes actions to popular children's songs and nursery ryhmes with pompoms, ribbons, scarves and musical instruments. This is followed by bubble time fun, a story and a fruit snack. After the session finishes the children then have 30 minutes of soft play!

Sylvia is a qualified dance teacher with 23 years of experience in ballet, tap, freestyle street, performing arts, contemporary and gymnastics (IDTA qualified).

Friday 9:30-10:30 followed by 30 minutes of soft play, £3/session. Suitable for preschoolers from 8 months+.

Thursdays 10:30-11:30am - Lingotot- Spanish

Join us at Lingotots for a fun and interactive session, designed to introduce your child to a new language through games, songs, stories and crafts. All of the sessions are conducted almost entirely in the target language. Classes are suitable for babies, toddlers, young children and their parents/carers so the whole family can enjoy learning a new language together!

Thursdays 10:30-11:30am, followed by 30 minutes of soft play, please enquire about course prices upon booking. Suitable for babies to pre-schoolers.

Tuesdays 1:00-3:00pm - Knit and Natter

Drop into our weekly Knit and Natter session. You can knit or crochet your own designs or we have knitting patterns available for the Tiny Lives Trust This is a great way to make friends, make a difference and all knitters get a free cup of tea/filter coffee. If you can't Knit, then come for a natter!

Please bring your own wool and knitting needles.

Tuesdays 1:00-3:00pm in our conservatory café, FREE CLASS, all ages welcome. No booking is required, just drop in!

Wednesdays 10:00 & Thursdays 9:15 - Messy Play

Come and join us at The Ark for MESSY PLAY. With a different theme each week, held in our newly refurbished community room, there's plenty for kids to do! Ages 0-5 will love the sensory play, water, sand, painting, crafts and much more. And the best part is there is no tidying up for parents!

Tea/coffee & Juice are included in the entry fee, as-well as an hour in the Soft Play. We recommend you and your children wear something you don't mind getting dirty. Aprons are available for the children, as well as hand washing facilities.

Wednesdays 10:00-11:00am followed by 1 hour of soft play

Thursdays 9:15-10:15am followed by 1 hour of soft play

 £5 for first child, £4 each for extra siblings. (no charge for non participating babies).

Suitable for ages 6 months to preschoolers

Monday & Tuesdays - Whiz Kids Homework Club

Whiz Kids provides a quiet space for your child to do their homework for approx 45 minutes, followed by 45 minutes of soft play as a reward for their hard work! We can offer free WIFI (bring your own laptops/devices) and refreshments are included. Younger siblings are welcome too, we can provide activities for them to keep them entertained.

Every Monday and Tuesday from 4:30-6:00pm (Term time only)

 £3.50/first child.  £1 Charge for extra siblings (regardless of age)

Age group: Mondays:  Key Stage 1 Children

Tuesdays:  Key Stage 2 Children

FREE Community Session

Every Tuesday The Ark closes early to the public to provide a private session that local community groups/schools are able to book out privately for Free. 

Groups that have benefited from these sessions include support groups for children and adults with learning difficulties, local charities and school groups for interative R.E. lessons.

We will provide you with free squash and other food/drinks can be ordered from the cafe during the session.

Every Tuesday from 1:30-3:00pm Please do not arrive prior to 1:30pm as the venue is being cleaned and prepared for you. These sessions are free. Donations are hugely appreciated.

Suitable for preschool to primary school age. Sessions must be booked in advance.

The sessions are for the benefit of multiple community groups and cannot be block booked.  They can be booked out for a maximum of twice per month.  This is on a first come first served basis.

Thursday 4.30 - SNAP (Special Needs Accessible Play)

SNAP Sessions are for children (and their siblings) with special needs and/or disabilities. Our soft play and sensory room is closed to the general public to provide you with a safe and understanding place for your children to play. Join in with a different sensory activity each time! Activity requests are welcome.

Drinks and snacks are available for purchase during these sessions and meal deals can be pre ordered up to 2:00pm on the day of SNAP. Please note: Parents / carers are responsible for their children at all times.

Alternate Thursdays 4:30-6:00pm (term time only).

 Under 5s: £2.80 and Over 5's : £3.40

Suitable for preschool to primary school age.

No booking is required, but a short registration is required upon your first visit.
