The Hexham charity Music and Movement has been providing fun-filled educational classes for pre-school children for more than 40 years. They help to develop imagination, creativity and confidence in young children, whilst also assisting with language and movement skills and spatial awareness. The classes mix contemporary and traditional songs, some with a new slant. The children have the opportunity to explore different sounds, and are introduced to pitch, pace and rhythm. There is also a chance to interpret music through dance, sail blue boats and go on a train journey to a different place every week .There is also time for coffee and time to play before or after the structured class. The current leaders are Julie Finch and Evi Horrocks & they are thrilled that the charity is still going and delighted to have a third generation attending the sessions in Trinity Methodist Church Hall Hexham on Friday mornings. The sessions are aimed at children aged 1 to 4 years.
