Our visit to Seven Stories

We were invited along last week and can highly recommend "Once There Was Magic" and "Shifter of Shapes: exploring The Lost Spells by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris".

Once There Was Magic - "Do not enter until you hear the 3 knocks" My two children waited patiently at the door, unsure what to expect but eager to find out. This hour long experience takes you on a magical journey and transports you into the worlds created by J. K. Rowling, Philip Pullman, Terry Pratchett, and many more. Your journey is guided by a wise wizard and within each magical portal you will find challenges to complete, you will have "SqueezeJoos" on hand to help, listen carefully as we found him hard to hear.

It was a fun activity to do together and it was nice just being our group within each portal, it encouraged our children to let their imaginations flow and they worked well together to solve the clues.

This exhibition is recommended for ages 7+, families and anyone with a love of magic.

Tickets are £9.50 per person. Minimum group size is 2 people, maximum is 6 people. Babies under 12 months are free.

We then moved upstairs to our second exhibition  "Shifter of Shapes: exploring The Lost Spells by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris".

Your bubble has exclusive use of the gallery for fifteen minutes, where you can explore this beautiful book, original paintings and animal sculptures.

The magical 'living' 7b12346762b5e5f2890027b89826c4c1.jpgbook brings the creatures to life & the magnetic letters wall encouraged the children to think and describe words from the book

After your time in the gallery you move on to the Lost Spells Den, where you can read the book  or do some themed crafts. We enjoyed making a bookmark, the children choose to work with ink and stamps. They both really enjoyed the crafts as it was a nice way to end the session.

To help make the most of your exhibition experience, it is recommended to take a look at  Slow Looking Guide and ideas for Introducing little ones to Shifter of Shapes before your visit.

Tickets are £6.50 per person. Minimum group size is 2 people, maximum is 6 people. Babies under 12 months are free.
