Kingswinford Hockey Club
Playing hockey is great way of meeting new friends with a common interest in sport as well as keeping fit and active. Hockey has always been known for its social aspects, meeting new people and visiting new places.
The Kingswinford Hockey Club was founded in 1967 by Mrs N Morris and Mrs M Waters to promote hockey within the local area. Since 1967 the home ground had moved about seven times but in 1999 a new astroturf pitch was built at the Dell Stadium which provided the opportunity for a stable base. In 2017 the club is delighted to be celebrating its 50th anniversary. The Club is currently running a very successful under 16's side and it is hoped that a senior side will be formed soon.
Since the astroturf pitch at the Dell in Brierley Hill was recently sold off by Dudley Council, training sessions for juniors are now every Sunday 11am-12:30pm at Coseley Leisure Centre, Henne Drive, Coseley, WV14 9JW normally from September through to June.
Matches for U16's (The Badgers) are played between September and March on most Saturday afternoons.
All newcomers are welcome both boys & girls aged 8-16 years old. No previous experience is necessary and we have plenty of hockey sticks available for use if you don't have one. Shin pads are necessary and gum shields are recommended.
Cost: £1 per session. Annual Subs: U12 £2; U16 £5.
