efbd9d4f8e880587aeed18ef76caa8be.pngEven if the weather is cooler, it's still great to get the kids out in the fresh air, clowing away the cobwebs and burning off that energy! There are all sorts of trails on offer this Autumn: Halloween Trails, Nature Trails, Illuminated Trails and some that end in a sweet treat! 

From October:

Follow the Gruffalo Spotters Trail at Wyre Forest, spot the signs and see what creatures you can find!  With the amazing new Gruffalo Spotter 2 app fun activity pack and trail, you’ll get to interact with all your favourite characters as you go in search of the Gruffalo in the deep dark wood.  Download the app before you set off.  Point the brand-new app at special markers along the trail and watch the characters from The Gruffalo story come to life.  Activity packs are also available from the visitor centre.  Parking is £4 at the Wyre Forest.

19 - 21 October
This year Light Night Worcester 2021 will feature four brand new large- scale projections created specifically for Worcester, transforming buildings in the city centre, whilst playful performances, which include Ghost Caribou by Thingumajig Theatre, will light up the surrounding streets. From 22 October – 5 December
Lantern Trail at West Midland Safari Park.
A wonderland of lanterns and interactive lighting displays. With over forty light groupings, and up to 1000 individual lanterns, the event will have something 54d8599d2c3acb71034a979c8389ca64.jpgfor all ages. The outdoor evening event will be open to the public from 5:30pm until 9:30pm on 25 selected dates from Friday 22nd October to Sunday 5th December.

22 – 31 October
Halloween Trail at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire
An outdoor experience for all ages. Wander from dusk into darkness between one ghostly space to another. Enjoy a wickedly good *hot toddy or devilishly decadent *hot chocolate or toast a marshmallow with someone special.

Spooky Spectacular at West Midland Safari Park
Brimming with Halloween decorations and hundreds of pumpkins in the Pumpkin Patch. Meet the brand new pumpkin scarecrow character, ‘Patch’, and join his spooktastic activity trail.

23 – 31 October  9 am – 5 pm
Pumpkin Walk at Bodenham Arboretum.  Enjoy a walk around the big pool spotting the pumpkins and trying to work out the hidden word.  Tickets include entrance to arboretum. £6.50 per adult, £3.50 per child (under 5s free) plus booking fee. Plus there’s a Torchlit Pumpkin Trail on 29,30 and 31 October from 5.30pm.  Book via

Spider Web Trail at Little Owl Farm Park.  As well as all your favourite animals, and some spooky crafts children can join in with a spider web trail around the farm.  Book via

Autumn Sticker Trail at Arley Arboretum.  Enjoy the beautiful natural colours c7223543b48ee17fc20a572242033f6a.jpgof the Arboretum and take part in the trail if you wish.  No frightening noises/decorations.  Suitable for young children, families or anyone not wanting to be scared.

23 to 31 October
Witches Potion Trail at Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, Ironbridge.

23rd October – 31st October (excluding 25th)
Wicked Witch Week at The Commandery, Worcester.  Enjoy Halloween in one of Worcester’s oldest and spookiest buildings.  Follow the Witches Potion Trail and Wicked Witch activities.  Normal admissions apply, small extra charge for activities.

25 – 29 October
Treasure Trail around Stourbridge, with Courtyard Escapes. There are many hidden words located around town which you must search for. Solve all the clues and return to Courtyard Escapes to crack the code.

25th – 29th October   10.30 am – 2.30 pm
Pumpkin Trail at Bewdley Museum, Load Street. £2 a go with a spooky treat at the end.  Museum entry is free.  .  No need to pre-book!

26th – 30th October  
The Witches & Wizards School at Hartlebury Castle includes a Fangtastic Pumpkin Trail around the museum.  Dress up in your favourite spooky costume and have a go at carving a pumpkin too. Booking required for pumpkin carving, call 01299 250416.

6th November – 2nd January
Enchanted Garden Trail at Webbs of Wychbold.  Immerse yourself in a 1a68e7d7feb78ad480c05747f8e5d715.jpgfairy tale world as you make your way through twinkling lights and lanterns to the snowy north pole.  Booking required

12 November 9 January
Winter Glow at Malvern’s Three Counties Showground. Winter Glow is a festive celebration, which includes the Illuminated Light Trail, alongside Malvern’s first giant Observation Wheel. To find out more and to book tickets visit

From 27 November
Nativity Trail at Bodenham Arboretum, Wolverley. Look for the stars around the beautiful arboretum and find the real starts of the show – the animals! Booking required. or call 01562 852444.

From 1st December
Naughty Elf Trail at Arley Arboretum.  Plus visit Santa Post Box on selected dates in December.  Details –   

4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th December  houses open weekends 11 am – 3 pm
Percy the Park Keeper’s Winter Wander Trail at Kinver Rock Houses. Saturdays and Sundays in December (excluding 25th and 26th). Activity packs £2

Sunday 12th December
Santa Trail in aid of Mary Stevens Hospice.  This 2.5k walk will lead you around Stourbridge as you follow the map to find Santa with special treats, Christmas surprises and festive fun on route.  This family focused event will kick start your Christmas Celebrations.
