Ten Best Family Holiday Destinations

7a1beb395bdac47c30b326912349e709.jpgThe New Year is a great time to plan that family holiday and I've always got plenty of great ideas of places to go - and at some fantastic prices too. Here's just a quick list of some of my own favourite family holiday destinations - but if you have your own perfect vision of a holiday with children, give me a call. I'd be delighted to help you bring that dream getaway to life!

Majorca is one of the most popular choices for a family holiday. Alcudia has a long stretch of beautiful sandy beach, with crystal clear waters, and you'll find plenty of small sandy coves on the east coast. There are many family friendly hotels and apartments which have excellent facilities for children, and great family entertainment. And all within 2 1/2hours from the UK, so it's ideal for children going on their first flight.

With its year-round sunshine, 825 miles of beaches and world-class theme parks, it's no surprise that Florida is one of most popular holiday destination. Disney's Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios and SeaWorld make Orlando the first port of call for many families heading to Florida. There is much more to the Sunshine State than theme parks, though. Once the kids have raced, laughed and shrieked their way around the main attractions, there are clean, sandy beaches, buzzing cities such as Miami and wildlife parks to explore too.

Huge beaches, family-friendly resorts and reliable summer sun have all 7cd10790c6dce9dfac8f5f12b3f961cb.jpghelped to make Portugal's Algarve region a hit with British families. Sporty types will love the wide range of activities - horse riding, golf and watersports, while stressed-out mums can pamper themselves in luxury spas. What's more, there is a huge choice of accommodation catering for all budgets.

With a sunny climate all year round, the Canary Islands are a great place to visit in any school holiday. They are a great choice for families, and as each island is so different. Tenerife is best for great family theme parks such as Loro Parque and Siam Park, and those wanting a busier holiday, Fuerteventura appeals to families looking for a quieter trip, with the best beaches, and the resort of Playa Blanca in Lanzarote is great for little ones.

With gorgeous beaches and clear blue seas, there is also something for everyone in Greece. With Crete, Rhodes and Kos offering plenty to see and do and quieter islands such as Kefalonia and mainland Greece providing a more relaxing holiday. But if sports are your family's priority, you can get some great activity holidays in Greece offering free expert tuition, free action packed kids clubs and free activities including windsurfing, sailing, waterskiing, biking and tennis and a free spa for mum!

Whether your family loves city tours, the great outdoors or Mickey Mouse, France has it all. You can admire the yachts in St Tropez, ride the waves in Biarritz, enjoy great seafood 20915b994cba78a1414c4f71a2eab74c.jpgwhilst camping in Brittany or mix culture with Disney fun in Paris - the choice is yours. And best of all, you can fill the car up with everything you could possibly need and take it all with you on the ferry. An Alpine resort such as Chamonix, with its climbing, hiking and mountain biking, could prove an invigorating change.

  7. DUBAI

With its white sandy beaches, sensational adventure-themed parks and all round sunny climate, Dubai offers families the perfect holiday all year round. There are some fantastic family hotels in Dubai such as Atlantis The Palm, with the excellent Aquaventure waterpark and Lost city of Atlantis, and Jumeirah Beach hotel offering great kids clubs, and Wild Wadi waterpark. The whole family can enjoy an authentic Arabian experience with an incredible desert safari, see the world's largest dancing fountain or visit the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, or swap the sun for snow in a winter wonderland with a visit  €œSki Dubai€, the world's largest indoor snow park.

The whole family can enjoy quality time together climbing the Rockwall and surfing the waves of the Flowrider, before tucking in to a delicious meal followed by World Class entertainment if they wish. Or if being able to wake up in a different destination, followed by a day of exploring and a spot of sunbathing is more you, then I would definitely recommend a cruise.  Royal Caribbean cruises feature fantastic kids clubs that provide fun 2ddc73168a954f4c6307a2b8d63c2752.jpgactivities for all, whilst Mum and Dad can have quality time together safe in the knowledge that the kids are having a great time. Fairground rides, family parades, ice skating rinks, great shopping and fantastic dining options is all part of the experience.

Lapland in winter is a magical experience, a scenic winter wonderland located deep inside the Arctic Circle and blanketed in snow from December to May. So, if you wanted to take your family to Lapland and thought it's only a short Santa trip in December, think again. Santa is there all year round, and can be visited from December onwards. It is also a lot cheaper to go after Christmas and you could combine it with a ski holiday. There is guaranteed snow, cosy log cabins in the woods and many activities such as great skiing, husky-dog sledding, reindeer sleigh rides across a frozen lake, ice fishing, snowmobiling or stay in a thermal glass igloo for a night, a great way to see the Northern Lights. Not forgetting a trip to see Santa of course!

Benidorm on the Costa Blanca and Marbella on the Costa del Sol are hugely popular due to their beautiful beaches and wealth of family-focused entertainment options. However, if you wanted to visit Barcelona, you can do this easily from Costa Dorada, which offer fantastic value for money and has Port Aventura theme park nearby which is very popular with families of all ages.

I hope the above has given you some food for thought of where you could take your family this year. If you'd like any other advice, I'm always available at a time to suit you. Just call 01384 466570, or email - I look forward to hearing from you, and building your own perfect family holiday!

My name is Claire and I would love to share my travel expertise with you.
After studying travel at college I worked in a ski resort in France, and then was lucky enough to go travelling around the world before starting my career for a high street travel agent, where I was a travel consultant and customer service manager for over 20 years.

I am passionate about finding your “perfect holiday”, whether it's a short break or a round the world cruise, and have access to hundreds of suppliers, offering everything from overnight hotels, car hire, and attraction tickets to luxury tailor made holidays.

I have travelled extensively throughout Australia, Canada, America (including Hawaii), the Caribbean and Europe, and have skied many resorts in France, Austria, Finland Italy and Canada, where I got married. I loved them all for different reasons, Australia for its diversity, New York for its excitement and Disney World Florida for well…..everything! Having a young family has taken me to some fabulous family hotels in Europe, Dubai and Disneyland Paris, so I can offer advice on holidays with or without children.

I will offer the highest level of service at all times, ensuring each and every detail of your holiday meets and exceeds your requirements, whilst offering 100% financial protection.

If you would like me to help you with your travel needs, give me a call on 01384 466570 or 07982 514096, send me an email, or if you prefer I could visit you in the comfort of your own home or meet for a coffee and a chat.
